Freshened up my wheels in time for Europpomeet

I got them cheap because they were pretty scraped up. Decided I may as well do a colour change, from silver to the BMW sparkling graphite you see above. Pretty pleased with the results.

Looking good! A dark gray is what I am considering switching my summer rims to....they are very beat up, but a dark color would hide it! :)

How did you go about painting them? Did you sand and fix the curb rash and whatnot or just paint? I’ll prob just be cleaning mine with some wax and grease remover or some such and then painting...

I sanded the damage to bare metal, then applied filler. Wet sanded the full wheel to give it a good key, two coats of primer, 2 coats of colour, 2000 grit wet sand then clear coat.

It took all day...

I like the rear lights on the face lift though not sure whether I like them more or less than the pre-face lift.

I can’t believe the Twingo III has been here for four years already.

I did all mine with spray cans on a bit of tarp. Prep is the important part, most of the job was spend sanding.

Its a shame they never made an RS version of the Twingo III. I’d probably be driving one if they did.
